This article provides an overview of the most important technologies within AI, how they work and their areas of application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Definition &amp; explanation of terms<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artificial intelligence (AI) describes systems or machines that have human-like capabilities: They can process information, learn, make decisions and adapt to new situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI is a generic term that covers various technologies and methods, such as machine learning, neural networks and robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Background &amp; development<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The foundations of AI were laid back in the 1950s.
